Thank God for the great weather, food and the fruitful day! YAY! Our long-awaited BBQ finally came to passed.. heheh... we had so much fun and food that it was such a pity we didn't have enough time to complete all that was planned for... such a pity that we missed the yummy lamb chops and mutton (not beef) satay!

Still i thank God for His favour to rest upon this Care & Connect event especially the fabulous fellowship we had. i was really blessed by everyone's presence and also with the great time catching up with everyone. Welcome Sai Hong to our carecell too! ^^

Special thanks to Priscilla for kindly hosting us at your sister's place; Jonah, Arthur, Jeorina & Jack for getting the drinks and ESPECIALLY TO JACK for setting up the fire! your expertise is greatly appreciated, what would we do without you!!

Developing My Relationship with God starts with TAWG (Time Alone With God)

(based on New Beginnings Chapter 2 - I Love God!)

1. Share: What is something that you love to do that occupies lots of your time & energies? How many hours do you spend on it per week?

· Similarly, how about your relationship with God? Does it occupy the same or greater amount of your time & energy?

· Alicia exercises, Jonah watches humorous videos, Gerald accessorizes his bike, Paige reads the bible daily, Huini & Edwin surfs the internet.

2. Let’s pause & reflect: What is your current state of your relationship with God on a scale of 1 – 10? Where would you like to be, again, on a scale of 1 – 10?

· Let us all aim to move up the "scale" from our current relationship with God to a higher & deeper level of intimacy with Him!

3. Why do you want to develop your relationship with God?

· God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him 1 John 4:9 (NLT)

· And nobody knows more about love than Jesus. He loves us so much, He gave so much that He went to the cross and died for us.

· Therefore, because He first loved us, we want to love Him. That is the reason why LIFE’s theme verse is from Luke 10:27 “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind”.

· In LIFE carecell, we want to be people who love God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind.

· The most foundational is to have a relationship with God through Time Alone With God (TAWG).

· Since Jesus is the Lord of your life, all your time belongs to Him. Still, we need to set aside a regular time to read the bible, meditate & pray. This is a special time set aside to hear from God and to speak to God. Luke 5:16, even Jesus set aside time to seek His heavenly Father.

4. What is Time Alone With God (TAWG)?

5. Why is it important to have TAWG?

· Read New Beginnings Chapter 2 p.18-22

Psalm 1:1-3

i. Blessed is the godly man (v.1) – Blessed means being happy, fulfilled, joyful, contented.

ii. Who delights in God’s Word (v.2a) – If a person delights in something, you don’t have to beg them to do it or to like it. They will do it all by themselves.

iii. And meditates day & night (v.2b) – not daily but day & night. Constantly, regularly.

iv. Whatever he does prospers (v.3b) – God’s promise & reward.

Indeed, man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord (Deut 8:3)

Had a good time sharing abt our 3s,5s,6s,7s in TAWG in carecell yday. Be it 1 or 10, cuz He first loved us, let's encourage each other in growing closer to our first love - God! ^^

1st LIFE! Carecell Outing - Thai dinner & Mind's cafe

Our 1st LIFE! carecell outing! Gerald recommended Ah Loy Thai @ Shaw for affordable & good thai food. Thank God he made a reservation cuz there was almost 20 ppl in the queue! Food must be good then. For abt $11, we were able to order a good number of different dishes, thou some of their "signature" dishes were sold out.

We proceeded to Mind's cafe where really had a mad time of games, laughter, grabbing, snatching, pulling, snooking... & totally made lots of noise! We even all stood up for one of the game... hehe... Also, we chill-out over some ice cream & brownies cuz we were very "hyped" up.

Overall, I enjoyed it very much!! A crazy time! :)

LIFE! Loving God, Loving People

Theme verse for LIFE: Luke 10:27

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and, Love your neighbor as yourself.

Today, 17^th July 2009, is LIFE’s first carecell! I feel an excitement in my spirit as I believe God is going do a new work in this carecell. Indeed, it's a new season for all of us!

A new season requires a new vision, a new vision from God.

What’s a vision?

The manner in which one sees or conceives of something
outlines what we want to be, our future
It will be our inspiration

A God given vision is important because Prov 29:18 says, “Without a vision the people perish”

Acts 2:17 “In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.”

We are all young people in this carecell so we can all see visions :-)

Pray: Let's pray Acts 2:17 into our lives asking for God to pour out the Holy Spirit into our lives so that we can receive God's vision for ourselves & for LIFE carecell.

Luke 10:27-28

Oh God, thank you for all the good things that you have done for our LIFE carecell this week and with that, I like to pray for Lina. That you will oversee and make the roads smooth for her during her test and I pray for an understanding instructor.

I also lift Huini and Alicia into your hands that you will grant us a good interview. May the right words pour out of our mouths at appropriate times and I pray that you will be with us during it all. Amen.

My First Life Carecell Session Since Our Multipilcation =)

cell was exciting on the 17th... though we all felt the awkwardness of having half the lot over in the other cell (and we missed them too), God is certainly doing a new thing this season. I was very encouraged by the testimonies and how God is moving in ALL our lives. I thank God for the wonderful blessings we each received through the God-given gel Jonah facilitated. I didn't win the game... =( but am certainly encouraged by the wonderful people around me in cell.. that cell session led me to appreciate each of my cell members more... so here's more blessings for all of you... heee... :

Edwin - Thanks for efforts and faithfulness in bringing the cell together. Also, in encouraging us to take ownership of the carecell.

Lina - I am blessed by your presence and how you've shared your life so openly with us, you share like you have known us for ages! (i'm so glad you did so) All the best for your driving test, ya? Keep calm, we'll be praying for you.=)

Paige - I loved your eagerness in wanting to contribute to the carecell & am encouraged to seek the Holy Spirit more!

Alicia - I'm so excited, because you're so excited to take charge of the finances & help in planning for things.. looking forward to what you have for us.. heee... stay cool for your interview, ok? May God grant you wisdom and favour!

Jonah - I like your child-like faith. You asked God so literally for the game, and because you did so, we were greatly blessed! Thanks... and for that yummy snack too!

Gerald - Praise God that you're cleared for your license! I'm thrilled how God use you to speak to many. We missed your presence! let's have durians soon!!!

Carecell Multiplication Celebration!

Oh 10th July 2009 was a wonderful day celebrating the multiplication of our carecell! Out of Bishan161, will be Life carecell!

Indeed God is actively at work in carecell & our lives have been transformed! Let's hear excepts of God's transforming power in the members lives:

In the past, Friday nights was the most happening day for me as it was clubbing night @ Velvet! But the clubbing didn't satisfy & emptiness remains. Things took a major turn when I joined Bishan161 carecel. Fridays night became wholesome. I became happier, less self-absorbed in myself and focusing more on God, etc. Even though at times I still faced challenges in life but hearing the testimonies on how God was is working through mu carecell members lives, I am encouraged that God is alive & at work. Bonding & surrounding myself with Christian friends helps me to be closer to God & do the right thing for God. ~Alicia

Carecell has given me a group of close Christian friends that I can depend on. They make me feel not alone in a church of thousands. When I go for service, they are there. During fellowship activities, they are there. When I need to clarify anything in the Bible, they are there. When I need godly counsel in difficult situations, they are there too. And sometimes, when I am dreaming at night, they are there too. Truly, they are like a second family. I once had nothing to do on Friday nights, except to go home and play computer games. Today, I can look forward to Friday evenings because of the friendly people waiting for me in carecell. I once practiced, and even approved of sinful things. Today, I abhor and struggle to flee from them. And through the stories that I hear my carecell mates tell, I can see God working in their lives. Therefore, I am encouraged to look out for God working in my life too. ~Jonah

We were married recently & very much wanted a flat but it's difficult getting new flat in Singapore. We shared in carecell & the carecell prayed for a flat. When we received the queue number, it was a 45 out of few thousands! That enabled us to get a choice 22nd level unit! ~Calvin & Jaslyn

Indeed God was at work & Acts 2 came alive in our carecell! Of course when God's power & life flows, people were added to our numbers & we had to multiply. :-) Celebrations also comes with good fellowship, food, friends! We welcome our new friends, Dalfin & Priscilla! Hope you visit us again & again! :)

In our new carecells, let's continue to ask the Holy Spirit to pour His vision into our hearts so that Acts 2 will happen again... lives transformed, numbers added... & it's MULTIPLICATION time again! :) All glory to God!
